Credit Where Credit is Due (in CT)

August 15, 2006

Number one, so glad I ranted and raved about the Help America Vote Act in my angry post about inefficient and nonrepresentative democracy. CT’s Secretary of State just announced that she has signed a contract to switch over from old-fashioned lever machines to optical ballots and phone voting (the second one for people with disabilities who cannot use the optical ballots). I feel as though maybe, just maybe, my Secretary of State saw my post and decided to act on it.

Too bad the announcement was quietly made about a week ago, and I was just too out-of-the-loop to notice.

Anyways, in other CT news, Lieberman: 46%, Lamont: 41% and Schlesinger: 6% in latest polls.
