More info on "Harriet the Spy"

Harriet Miers, Bush’s new supreme court nominee (to replace Justice O’Conner), has absolutely no experience as a judge. Her previous elected posts only include two years served on the Dallas city council. Her main claim to fame, though, is serving as the Texas state lottery commissioner.

From my mad left-wing point of view, Bush was stuck and knew her. Therefore, she was qualified. He needed to bring things away from recent disasters (e. g. Iraq, Roberts, Rita, Katrina) therefore he allowed a political puppet onto the scene. Harriet Miers, although she did make the lotto in Texas completely fail, still managed to stay friends with the famed shrub, so now she is on the track to being a supreme court justice. Who’s willing to bet she won’t be put into place as a replacement to O’Conner? Oh, wait…Bush was elected twice…
