The Darkest Horse I’ve Ever Seen

Okay. Tell me who comes to mind when I say dark horse.

  • Russ Feingold
  • Gary Hart
  • Lamar Alexander
  • Daniel Imperato?

Who is Daniel Imperato? Frankly, I haven’t the slightest clue. According to his website,, Imperato is a businessman who “has a vision” — read his biography — flawless, eh (despite the fact that the issues page lists the issues — but not how he feels on them). Google him — all that comes up are press releases he throws out on to the net every once and a while.

Imperato…sounds great…WHAT PARTY!? According to a May 15, 2005 article:

Mr. Imperato serves as an Honorary Chairman on the NRCC’s Business Advisory Council. The Business Advisory Council is a small prestigious group of conservative businessmen and women who have joined together to advocate a progressive, conservative, pro-business agenda.

So there are Republican frontrunners…and now…dark horses…in 2005. Where the hell are our darkhorses? I’d love to pick a Jack Tanner over a Hillary Clinton.

I’ve been reading about Imperato. He reminds me of a cross between Ross Perot and Colin Powell. He is a successful businessman, an independent, a Washington outsider, and has an extreme knowlege of the globe and its people.

I’ve been reading the stuff on his website, and its pretty interesting. I don’t think we should label him the dark horse, he very well may be the Howard Dean of the 2008 election.
