The United States was founded on a the enlightenment ideals of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Every day when we wake up in the morning, we have the entire world at our finger tips. I have the freedom to express my ideals on this blog in the same way that others are able to freely express and act upon their beliefs in other ways. Every night, we are able to sleep in our beds peacefully without a care in the world. Memorial Day gives us an opportunity to reflect on our lives and why we remain free to this day. I would like to thank each and every member of the U.S. armed services for their courageous acts in fighting to keep this great country of ours free. I would like to thank each family member who has lost a loved one in conflict and I would like to have them know that our prayers are always with them. Throughout the history of our country, men and women have given their lives to ensure that loved ones at home remain free, they have given their lives so that the United States will remain the world’s shining beacon of hope and freedom. Throughout the history of our country, men and women have fought and died for their country so that others wouldn’t have to. There are no words that can express my gratitude towards these brave men and women and their families. My school often talks of “men and women for others”, I can think of no better examples of this principle than the men and women whom are fighting for their country in Iraq, Afghanistan, and elsewhere and also, all of the men and women whom have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. The brave men and women of our armed forces prove that the U.S. is indeed THE LAND OF THE FREE AND THE HOME OF THE BRAVE.
To all those who serve: Thanks, there are no words that can express my gratitude for your sacrifice and commitment to Duty, to honor, and to country.
-GOD BLESS AMERICA-
