  • Sen. John Edwards (D-NC) is expected to declare candidacy in New Orleans between Christmas and New Years, and then visit NH, SC, IA, and NV in the days that follow.

  • Gov. Jim Gilmore (R-VA) will form an exploratory committee January 2nd. Gilmore served as Governor of Virginia from 1998-2002, as well as chair of the Republican National Committee.

  • NM Governor Bill Richardson, who visited NH last weekend, is expected to form a committee in January.

  • Draft Obama ads have begin airing on television in Washington, DC and in New Hampshire.
